Description

This week Kelley and Emily talk about two women who worked their entire lives to make the world better for others. First, Kelley shares the story of Mary Ann Shadd who fought for the freedom and success of black people, women's rights, and somehow found time to become a lawyer- all in the 1800s! Then, Emily tells a tale that is too dramatic not to be on TV! After surviving a war, Sutematsu Oyama was sent away from her home country of Japan to the United States to learn Western ways. When she returned to Japan, she fought and sacrificed so girls and women could have access to an education! Pick up your morning paper and grab a wet blanket because it's time to wine about herstory!
