Description

Three years ago, before Simone Magee had a prototype for her idea she went to the world's leading manufacturer and distributor of wardrobe solutions for women to see if they be interested in her idea. They told her, "We don't believe there is a market for what you're creating." Well, as any great entrepreneur must learn rather quickly, other people aren't always right. With no plan, she quit her full-time job, completely bootstrapped the idea, and got to work to prove and build the market.

Her idea was Dress Downs, the first reusable and discreet dress weight for women. A fashion fix designed to help prevent "Marilyn moments". Dress Downs has been named a Can't Live Without Fashion Fix alongside the wildly popular Spanx and Fashion Tape; they've been featured on Buzzfeed, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Insider Style, and the Daily Mail just to name a few. She was also awarded 1st place for Art & Design by the Chicago Tribune for the Big Idea Awards.

Recently, Magee landed her first big-box retailer and Dress Downs are now available in Bed Bath and Beyond. A daydreamer by choice, she believes that just because her head is in the clouds doesn't mean her dress should be too.
