Marcie is a writer, a blogger, a wife and a Mom. She’s the creator of many online spaces that she calls brave spaces, most namely Black Coffee with White Friends and Mockingbird, history lessons for adults.
Marcie is one incredible person, and this conversation sits right in my heart. In this episode, Marcie shares the stories behind how these ventures began, and how at the root of them were the crucial conversations that need to be had about history, race, identity, and what it is to be Marcie. These conversations are woven with such a beautiful sense of vulnerability and so much truth, including personal practices, finding balance in the world today, and what deepest challenges and biggest rewards have been like for Marcie in her life.
At the end of most episodes, I pull out some of my Safe Haven style questions… just wait until you hear the stories about Marcie’s Mom during that part of our fabulous conversations!! I literally was speechless listening to these stories.
