As this heart-driven networking continues, Jenny Jay was the one who put Lauren Russ-Constant and I in touch. This led me to a video on Lauren’s Instagram page that was so raw, so real, and so relatable, and ultimately sparked the conversation around Lauren sharing some of her personal experiences and perspectives with me on the podcast.
Lauren is an incredible person. She’s taken her own personal growth to create safe spaces where people feel less alone and can communicate openly about their emotions and mental health, rather than lying about their emotional and mental wellbeing, which is something so many of us do or have done in our lives.
In this episode, Lauren shares her experience being mixed, and how she’s had to navigate being mixed in her social life and within her family – which is half white, and half black.
We chat about the importance of emotional awareness and using correct language with regards to emotional wellbeing in the education system, and what her role has been in trying to bring this forward in classrooms.
This conversation has so many different aspects to it, and sits so close to my heart.
