While desiring wisdom is commendable, seeking it apart from God is not. In their covetousness, Adam and Eve pursued the way of evil to obtain something that can only be acquired by fearing and obeying God. Believers must remember that although the way of sin might appear beneficial, it only leads to destruction (Prov. 13:15).
