One thing that should characterize a Christian’s walk is a special reverence and awe for the Lord Jesus. Peter’s command to sanctify Christ as Lord means that we are to serve Christ as a loving Master, seeing our lives as belonging to him. He has redeemed us with His blood (1 Pet. 1:18–19), and made us His possession (1 Pet. 2:9). He has ultimate right of our time, talents, strength, and resources.
