Alternative music swept the nation in the early 90s. By 1993, “grunge” music was dominating not only the alternative charts, but the hot 100 and MTV as well. Nirvana was huge, and Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots and others going mainstream has allowed other lesser known bands to be found and at least have 1 or 2 songs become popular.
