Commerce Department Finds U.S. Economy Expanding
As we head into one of the busiest shopping seasons of the year, the government has released revised numbers showing that the U.S. economy continues to expand. The Commerce Department says the economy grew 2.5 percent in the third quarter, in part because consumers are spending more and American businesses are exporting more. Mark Vitner is a senior economist at Wells Fargo. He said the story these numbers tell is that the private sector is growing more rapidly than before.
