Speaking about the economic recovery during his first press conference in four months, President Barack Obama said "progress has been painfully slow." The president has spent the week selling his new economic plan in advance of Congress' return next week. His proposals include tax breaks for business and new infrastructure spending. Responding to a question by CBS correspondent Chip Reid, the president defended last year's $800 billion stimulus program. But he made sure not to call his new plan a "stimulus.""It worked. It just hasn't done as much as we need it to do. We've still got a long ways to go. And we're going to keep on doing it," the president said. Reid followed up by asking, "So this is a second stimulus?""There is no doubt that everything we've been trying to do -- everything we've been trying to do -- is designed to stimulate growth and additional jobs in the economy," the president answered.
