New York, NY —

New York City has always been a challenging place to open and operate a restaurant. The competition is intense, not to mention keeping up with permits, licenses and operating costs. Add a recession to the mix and you've got a recipe for more than the specials of the day - you've got restaurateurs having to step up their game even more. WNYC reporter Kathleen Horan joins Amy Eddings to talk about the state of restaurants in the city and what they're doing differently in this economy.
