Trump To Send 1,700 FEDERAL TROOPS Into BLUE CITIES — Trump LACKS Authority & VIOLATES Constitution

The Josh Lafazan Show on YouTube - Episode 175

🇺🇸 Welcome to The Josh Lafazan Show.

Donald Trump has just launched one of the most dangerous and authoritarian moves of his presidency yet. He’s mobilizing nearly 1,700 National Guard troops from 19 Republican-controlled states as part of his so-called “crime and immigration crackdown.”

On paper, Trump claims this is about safety. In reality, it’s about intimidation and power. He’s not sending troops into red states or Republican-led cities — he’s targeting blue cities like Washington D.C., Chicago, and Baltimore. This isn’t about crime statistics. It’s about punishing his political opponents and staging a show of military force for his campaign.

📊 Segment 1 – The Scope of the Deployment
Trump has called on GOP governors from across the country — from Mississippi to South Carolina to Tennessee — to provide troops. That means thousands of soldiers, trained for combat, could be patrolling American city streets. These aren’t local officers accountable to communities. They’re soldiers. And Trump is using them as props in his political war.

Segment 2 – Why This Is Illegal
There are two massive legal problems:

1️⃣ The Posse Comitatus Act prohibits the U.S. military from acting as domestic police unless Congress explicitly authorizes it. Trump is taking Guard units from other states and using them for federal law enforcement against cities that never asked for them.

2️⃣ The Tenth Amendment gives states and cities the right to control their own policing. Trump overriding governors and mayors to impose his own military enforcement is a direct violation of that principle. Mayors and governors have already said they do not consent.

This is not “law and order.” It’s a constitutional crisis.

🏙 Segment 3 – Why Blue Cities Are Targeted
Notice where Trump is sending these troops: only Democratic cities. Even though many Republican-led states have higher crime rates, Trump is ignoring them. Why? Because this isn’t about solving crime. It’s about creating a political spectacle — intimidating Democrats and showing his base images of soldiers in the streets. This is intimidation disguised as policy.

🔵 Segment 4 – Democrats Push Back
Democratic mayors and governors are not backing down. Leaders in Chicago and Baltimore have said their cities don’t need Trump’s troops. Democratic governors warn this sets a terrifying precedent: a president federalizing state forces without consent.

In Congress, Democrats are drafting legislation to block this abuse of power. Lawsuits are already being prepared, citing constitutional violations and abuse of authority. Because if Trump can do this now, what’s to stop him from sending troops to monitor protests or intimidate voters on Election Day?

📉 Segment 5 – The Backfire
Just like many of his other “law and order” stunts, this move may backfire. Crime is already trending downward in many of the cities Trump is targeting. Americans see through the act. They know militarizing neighborhoods isn’t strength — it’s weakness.

Polls already show support for immigration at record highs, despite Trump’s fearmongering. And now, by sending soldiers into cities, he risks alienating moderates and independents who don’t want to see America look more like a dictatorship than a democracy.

🎯 Segment 6 – The Takeaway
Here’s the bottom line:

Trump is mobilizing 1,700 National Guard troops from 19 red states.

He’s targeting only blue cities, ignoring higher crime in red states.

His plan violates the Posse Comitatus Act and the Tenth Amendment.

Democrats are fighting back in the courts and in Congress.

Politically, this could cost him — because Americans know this isn’t law and order. It’s authoritarian overreach.

This is what it looks like when a president uses government power not to protect, but to punish.

📢 Outro – Call to Action
If you believe our military should never be weaponized against the American people, this is the time to speak up. Because if Trump can send troops into blue cities today, what’s to stop him from sending them after anyone who dares to oppose him tomorrow?

This isn’t law and order. This is a power grab. And it’s up to us — the people — to stop it.
