Manhattan novelist Edward Barella just can't seem to catch a break when it comes to finding the woman of his dreams, even with the help of his well-meaning married friends - studio engineer Marconi Bologna and wife Tabatha, and financial adviser Jim Puckleford and his chirpy wife, Linda. Edward also gets advice from Biff Henderson, the long-married doorman of his apartment building.
