John Mabry's charmed life took him from a private Christian collegiate education in Texas, to acting on major productions including "NCIS", "ER", and "Superbad" – landing national media attention from People Magazine, USA Today and Access Hollywood while living the Hollywood lifestyle with people like Adam Sandler, Emma Stone, Kaley Cuoco and many others.
Despite a master's degree in counseling, an invention to his name and multiple public-speaking awards, John experienced more loss than most. He lost a friend and had a leg painfully amputated in a horrific car wreck – which led to a decade-long battle with PTSD, depression, anxiety and substance use disorder.
Things worsened after he found his brother dead from a drug overdose in his Beverly Hills home. Following five rehab center visits in seven years, John worked in the treatment industry, hosted a podcast on addiction and shared his story on stages around the country.
His rock bottom came after another relapse where he lost his wife, kids, home and job where he reached the deepest depression he'd ever been through.
After a few years of intense work on his sobriety and mental health, John is back working as a Public Speaker and Life Coach. He helps people understand the root causes of mental health and addiction, which is not what you think. He offers simple, practical advice anyone can start immediately to overcome adversity and improve their lives.
