The Orlando Magic's coaching search has picked up steam this week. They are clearly in the interview phase. A hire could be coming soon as the team examines its wants and desires in a head coach.
What is clear is that as the Magic begin their rebuild and begin to pick up the pieces, their next coaching hire will be vitally important. It was one of the major pieces Rob Hennigan got wrong from the start. It is why the Philadelphia 76ers seem to have the culture that a rebuilding team would envy (in addition to the talent).
As the Magic pick their next coach, they have to find someone who will work in lockstep with management and echo and amplify their message and goals. That is far more important than the experience or traits the coach has. It is the key to this whole project.
