Is This the Best Chiefs Draft Class Since 2022?
Sammy Long breaks down whether the current Kansas City Chiefs draft class could rival the legendary 2022 haul. He draws parallels between the two years—highlighting how the Chiefs managed seismic roster changes (star trades like Tyreek Hill in 2022 and Trent McDuffie this year) and still uncovered impact starters.
Key Topics:
- The legacy of the 2022 Chiefs draft: major contributors like Trent McDuffie, George Karlaftis, and Isaiah Pacheco
- Roster turnover and the Chiefs' ability to get younger and cheaper while remaining competitive
- Are the Chiefs relying too heavily on rookies in 2026?
- Standout performances from new faces: Mansour Delaine (one of the league’s top-graded corners), Peter Woods, Armason Thomas (notable pass rush impact), Khalil Benson (rising star at left tackle), and Emmitt Johnson (running back ready for more touches)
- Early-season assessments and the potential for the current class to have a similar impact as the Super Bowl-winning 2022 group
