Description

In this episode, Dalton gives out his midseason grades for the Louisville Cardinals' football team.

Offense: C+

Despite showing encouraging signs at times and improving with each week, the Cardinals offense has not lived up to the preseason hype. The passing attack struggled early on and is still improving, while the rushing attack has been solid for the past couple of weeks. Regardless, there was a lot to be expected from the offense and the play-calling considering the veteran leadership that was returning.

Defense: B+

Concerns regarding the Louisville secondary are still alive in 2022, with many questioning the scheme and coaching. However, the team defense has improved from last season with the Cardinals being in the top-five nationally in sacks and doing a solid job of getting into the opposing backfield.

Team: C-

There have been encouraging signs throughout the first six games, but the significance this season was put on results. Going .500 in the first half of the season feels like a big missed opportunity for the Cardinals considering that the back half of the schedule is extremely tough, and the team is continuing to struggle to finish out games.
