We begin with this fact: Assassin’s Creed 3 was rubbish. Really rubbish.
It’s a good thing its predecessor, Assassin’s Creed 2, was not. Not that II was without its flaws, but it built upon a decently laid foundation from the 2007 original. It provided one of the best protagonists of the last generation in Ezio, an epic world to explore in Venice and thensome.
For me, even talking about it makes me want to go back and play it. For Louise Blain, Assassin’s Creed 2 is not only her favourite game, it’s the game that sent her down a rabbit hole of Assassin’s Creed fandom after a few years out from playing games.
