When we have a lot on our plate, so finding time to do even simple tasks can be daunting. But by getting others to help us, whether it be a spouse or your teenager, really frees up time. In this episode we talk about teamwork, in particular the benefit of assigning recurring tasks to others, and also how to  teach our family members to cook.

Our community guest this week is Jennefer Bernal, who has an inspiring fitness Instagram page Running Ever After. We talk about how she grew up with food insecurity and viewed food as only a means of survival, and about how she now enjoys eating and cooking in her large household.

Quick Tip of the Week: Save yourself some time by delegating a recurring task or a chore to someone else in your household.  Ask them to do it at the same time each week. In the beginning, they may need a friendly reminder to get the chore done, but eventually it will become something they will do without needing a nudge. That will free up your time, and maybe more importantly, your mental energy in no longer needing to remember it yourself.

Deeper Time Management Thought: Teaching someone else in your household simple basics in the kitchen, even something as simple as cooking frozen grocery store french fries, can really pay off in the long run. The key is to get them to make the same thing several times, and to make sure it's something they enjoy eating.
