The breakdown of local communities is one of the greatest threats to our world in the 21st century. Tim Carney, a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, is the author of "Alienated America" which builds on the work of Robert Putnam, Charles Murray and others, and shows the importance of social capital and the negative consequences in America of a continued disintegration of our local communities.
