- Start by running through different aspects of this past weeks Torah Portion

       - Song of Moses

       - Discusses how this portion is foundational in that it sets up the beginning of the Biblical year, the institution of the Passover as one of the basis’ of Hebrew identity

               - We discussed the 4 questions given at passover (Deuteronomy  6:21)

      -  Parting and passage of the Red Sea, rather the Sea of Reeds

      - Miriam, the sister of Aaron vs. sister of Moses

- Upbringing and education Moses had as a child and or younger man

- The three potential advisors to Pharaoh during Moses’ infancy

- Daughter of Pharaoh had converted into being a Hebrew

 

2nd Hour

- Daughter of Pharaoh married into the Tribe of Judah

- Rabbinic Judaism today anachronistically labels all things Hebrew in Torah as Jewish

      - Will cause issues with reconciling the missing tribes in the future

      - The Timelines

- The story of King Josiah finding the Torah Scroll, reading of the Passover and not knowing how to observe it

     - Christian’s who discover Torah run through the same issues

 

3rd Hour

- The Jewish Soul idea

       - The perspective that Torah ought not be taught to the non-Jew

- Goy is not simply everyone other then the Hebrews, it is simply defined as Nation or People

- How to inspire the study of Torah in the modern church goer?

- Back to the Torah Portion

       - Israel’s journey after the Sea of Reeds

       - Admonition against complaining or grumbling

       - The pitfall of learning to feel secure in your servitude or slavery

       - The building up of Emunah (Faith) is the core of this Portion

       - Interesting ideas of the supernatural provisions in the wilderness
