Free Budget Worksheet!

Practical steps to get on a budget:

  1. Write everything down (use a paper budget like ours, or find a good app if you'd prefer electronic)
  2. Sit down with your bank statement for the past few months to get an idea of how much you're spending in certain areas (groceries, eating out, clothing, toiletries, gifts, etc.)
  3. Keep track of all unique expenses (extras for you and your family that may not be common) in addition to traditional ones (like rent/mortgage, utilities, gas, phone bill, etc.)
  4. Do your budget before you get paid and for every time you get paid (we do ours twice a month before each pay day)
  5. Keep track of quarterly/yearly expenses so you don't get hit with those things that you tend to forget about!

Practical tips and extras:

  1. Share logins for royalty and rewards apps with your spouse/kids, if applicable
  2. Start small (always a tip from us!); what do you spend $15 or less on? Small purchases add up!
  3. Give yourself an allowance
  4. Use our free budget worksheet to get started!

Don't be discouraged if it takes you a couple of weeks or months to really get into the groove of a budget.
