Description

This week we have Reina Tyl with the Missouri Department of Conservation on to talk about Missouri's turkey population.  Reina is a wild turkey and ruffed grouse biologist with MDC, so she is very knowledgeable about turkey in our state. We talk with her about the history of the turkey in Missouri and other places, conditions that go into populations like weather and predators, and we get into the decline we have been seeing in our turkey population here in Missouri.  We discuss why our decline might be happening like increases in predator populations and natural population declines after large booms and some things we can all do to help the population potentially rebound.  This episode is packed full of good information from Reina and we thank her for coming on and spending some time with us to discuss this very interesting topic.
