One last foundation, that is also one of our core missions to to have compassion for people. Jesus was about having compassion for people. Christ-like compassion moves you to meet the needs of others. This comes from having the right understanding of compassion. It is not merely a sentimental feeing or emotion. Perhaps you take pity on someone in trouble, but compassion is more than that. Or perhaps you feel sorry when you hear about someone who is suffering. Compassion is being moved to action and not just shed a tear. You look for ways to help, assist, listen, or move toward our Savior who can help.
Christ-like compassion administers the Right remedy for the needs of others. It’s isn’t just a matter of giving to them, but of giving them what really matters. Compassion requires you to be sometimes tender, and sometimes tough. Either way, you are trying to help restore and provide what someone needs.
