The Penn State coaching staff met with the media for about an hour on Wednesday, discussing various topics. The Blue White Illustrated team was on hand for the event and brings you their observations on the BWI Daily Edition. Host Thomas Frank Carr, senior Editor Nate Bauer and reporter Greg Pickel discuss what stood out to them about head coach James Franklin's comments and then explain which position coaches they talked to afterward.
T-Frank starts with the main thrust of Franklin's conversation, which was on NIL and the transfer portal. Next, Bauer takes viewers through the interaction that ended the press conference, in which Franklin discussed the landscape necessary to compete in college football. Afterward, Pickel gives his thoughts and then shifts the focus to freshman linebacker Abdul Carter. Finally, T-Frank follows up with his thoughts on Carter's fit in the Penn State defense.
Next, they discuss which positions coaches they talked to and how those conversations went. Bauer chatted with offensive line coach Phil Trautwein about his group and how he feels heading into the Fall. Next, Pickel talks about what safety coach Anthony Poindexter had to say about his group.
