It was a big day for Penn State football, as the team opened up spring practice for the 2022 season. Blue White Illustrated had the day covered from morning until night, culminating with the BWI Live Show at 8:30 pm on YouTube. Join host Thomas Frank Carr, reporter Dave Eckert, and senior editor Nate Bauer to discuss what they heard and saw on Monday.

They start with James Franklin's press conference, which kicked off the day, and spring football. Bauer gives his thoughts on the tone, and tenor Franklin set with his comments.
They start with the offensive line and the depth chart that head coach James Franklin laid out during his press conference. It's a very thin group of scholarship players, many of which are also young. How will that play out this spring? The trio will give their thoughts.
They'll also discuss the quarterback situation and Franklin's comments about how he plans to divvy up the reps this spring among four scholarship quarterbacks. Next, they discuss Franklin's downplaying some of the young talents on the roster from the Class of 2022. So is that a concern? Bauer, Eckert, and T-Frank will weigh in.
Next, they'll discuss what they saw during Penn State's open practice. All three panelists were in attendance Monday afternoon and will give their thoughts about what they saw in the brief open window on Day 1. Bauer spent his time with the defenders and new defensive coordinator Manny Daiz, while T-Frank saw the offense. They'll give their impressions of players, coaches, and more.
Finally, they'll dive into Athletic Director Sandy Barbour's final spring press conference. She spoke for the first time since announcing that she is stepping down this summer, and both reporters were there. Eckert and Bauer will share their thoughts on her comments and what they can read into the situation.
