Description

As the local Church, we are meant to be an Irresistible Force, not by our own strength, planning, or brilliance, but by the power of the Living God. The arrival of the Holy Spirit, Peter’s sermon, and 3,000 converts set the stage for how our church should operate today.

Three Things

Irresistible Force | Week 1

September 18, 2016 | Bill Clark

Acts 1:1,2 (NIV)

In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven...

Acts 1:4,5 (NIV)

...for the gift my Father promised, which you heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:14 (NIV)

Peter stood up, raised his voice and addressed the crowd.

These men are not drunk!

Acts 2:17-18 (NIV)

In these last days, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy...even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit and they will prophesy.

Acts 2:42 (NIV)

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.

Christian worship is really about an audience of one.

Acts 2:44-47 (NIV)

All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
