In looking at this letter from Paul to Philemon, Pastor Jennie speaks to the challenges of the situation of Onesimus, a slave of Philemon. In breaking down the text, Pastor Jennie applies this letter to the context of our world today. Although we don't have modern day slavery in America, there is still long-lasting racial prejudice and racism beginning from times of slavery to our current society that wrongfully erodes the loving community that Christ calls us to live into. In this message, Pastor Jennie speaks to our current context and the challenge of reconciling and restoring our past and present to live into a Christlike future.
