SHOW SUMMARY
The step to addressing a problem is to admit that there is one. If you had a physical ailment, you would have no qualms seeking medical attention. Unfortunately, this is not always the case with mental health issues.
In this episode of the No BS Sales School podcast, Walker talks about seeking professional help to address your mental health problems. Despite the good progress that has been made recently, there’s still a lot of work to be done in getting the stigma out of mental health. But as someone who has experienced mental health problems himself, Walker’s advice is simple: go and get professional help.

QUOTES
Walker on his personal struggles with mental health: "I don't have many friends, but I enjoy being around people. And what I found was I began to believe that maybe nobody gave a shit, nobody understood. But that's the things that just came to my mind."
Walker's advice for people going through mental health problems: "It's easy to get on this downward spiral. I guess I want to encourage you: if you're going through some of that, you're feeling some of that, go get help. Go talk to your doctor. Start with your primary doctor. Go to a psychiatrist if you have one. Go tell them the story."
Walker on why seeking professional help is worth it: "Sometimes it's the medicine that gives you the lift, that can allow you to do the self-help things. The exercise, getting outdoors, lifting weights. Do things to help build yourself, to help different chemicals get released in your brain. This is not a weakness or failure on your part. This is just part of what you're having to go through, like having some other kind of physical ailment."
