In what was considered a potential trap game for Phoenix Rising unfortunately went that way for the lads in red as Phoenix could not overcome a Miami team that was second from the bottom in the Eastern Conference.
Miami opened the scoring in the 15th minute off a whiffed clearance from Daniel Krutzen. Rising stormed back through dominating play for the rest of the first half, ultimately resulting in a delicious through ball from Panos Armenakas to Danny Trejo who calmly finished in the 44th minute. Yet it was not Rising’s day as they looked sluggish throughout the second half. Miami’s go-ahead goal in the 55th minute proved to be the difference down the stretch.
