"Summertime for me is as much about happy, funky, mid-tempo music at the pool, or by the lake, as it is about peak-hour beats in the club. When putting together this RIPEcast, also the 25th edition of my "Route" mix series, I was reluctant to have to choose between those two vibes... so I decided not to. This mix is 50/50; nu-funk bounce, followed up with full-on, dance floor energy. A little longer than most mixes, but hopefully worth it.
A wise man said recently that too much dance music being made today is all about the fist pump, and not enough about the booty-shake. Well, I think what makes the San Francisco underground special is that we ALWAYS remember the booty-shake, and I hope this mix lives up to that spirit.
