The Space Cowboys are pleased to welcome another member of L.A.'s illustrious Pocket Underground crew, Sammy Bliss, to the RIPEcast this week. Sammy is also a resident with The Do Lab and one of the masterminds behind the fabulous Woogie Stage at the Lightening in a Bottle Festival in Southern California. For his appearance on the podcast this week, Sammy has put together this tasty, 68-minute tech-house mix that we think you're gonna love!
And oh by the way, if you live in San Francisco or will be visiting our fair city on Saturay, October 22nd, you can catch Sammy and fellow Pocket Undergrounder and RIPEcast guest, Pumpkin, at Public Works for "Woogie NIghts". For more information on that event visit http://on.fb.me/woogie-nights.
A little more backgound on this week's distinguished guest...
Originating from New York, Sammy Bliss found himself in Los Angeles in the early 90’s, which is where, ultimately, his DJ career flourished as part of the LA Underground scene. One half of the team that brings you The Woogie Stage at Lightning in a Bottle each year, he’s also the co-founder of Pocket Underground, a DJ collective and goofball party crew based out of Los Angeles. Having recently moved his family to the East Bay, the Pocket vibe will soon be infiltrating the San Francisco bay area as well.
Known for big, chunky Tech-House and dirty Techno, Sammy plays annually at Coachella and L.I.B., in addition to making asses shake at Spundae LA, Avalon, SF Love Parade, Burning Man, Fuente Eterno & Alma Paradiso (Mexico), Elysium Festival, Lucent L’Amore and more underground parties than he can remember. He’s a resident DJ with The Do LaB, NinjaSkillz and, of course, Pocket Underground.
