Steve Duncan is a Berlin-based DJ and co-curator of the Patterns of Perception platform. In his sets, he offers an atmospheric, driving sound that focuses on narrative, groove and hypnotic rhythm without being fixed to any specific genre.
Originally from Australia, Steve's background in classical music is what first attracted him to the complexity and depth of electronic music. As a classically trained guitarist, he has spent many years fine-tuning his ear for music, accumulating a wide range of influences in the process.
Together with a close-knit group of friends and collaborators, Steve’s work on Patterns of Perception allows him to explore techno’s sensory depths by inviting forward-thinking artists such as Peter Van Hoesen, Marco Shuttle, Volte-Face, Jamie McCue and natural/electronic.system. to feature at their parties or contribute to their mix series.
2017 looks to be a crucial year for Steve and the Patterns of Perception crew, with their one year celebration taking place at About Blank on May 21, followed by parties at Griessmuehle and their home-base of OHM, as well as their first international appearance in Copenhagen.
