The 394th epsisode of @DarkScienceElectro is an artist highlight on English-born, Dublin-based artist @Cignol
He grew up during the 80's when Hip-Hop and Electrofunk made it's way to other side of the Atlantic and subsequently blew up. @Cignol was immediately captivated and that exposure changed the course of his life. He dove into Electronic music culture in the 90's, learned how to DJ in his bedroom and started playing out on the free party scene in the UK, which was booming at the time". Venturing into music production followed shortly thereafter, purchasing his first machines in 1995 (Juno 60 and a TR-606). After years of stumbling around with the machines he moved to Holland, bought a computer and learned how to sequence within digital audio workstations. At first, he was producing IDM/Ambient music with Acid tinges and melodic focus, however, after getting tired of producing music within a computer, he purchased some machines and started writing Electro. He told me that "The workflow of using hardware is far better for creativity in my opinion, I love just switching the machines on and seeing what happens."
@Cignol has been active in releasing music for 10 years with his first release on Alphabet Set. He then moved on to other great labels like @computercontrolledrecords, @lunardiskorecords, @analogicalforce, @furthur_elect0nix, AC Records and most recently on the @alekstark label Fundamental Records.
