In this event, former North Carolina Governor Beverly Perdue discussed "The Magic of Leadership: Own It and You Are It." Governor Perdue served the citizens of North Carolina for more than 25 years through January 2013. Her accomplishments in public health leadership during her career in public service as Governor and as Lieutenant Governor for the state have included reducing teen smoking and childhood obesity and increasing prescription drug access for seniors.
