Today's Big Interview -- brought to you exclusively every day by UNC Lenoir Health Care -- is former Kinston High School basketball star Michael Jenkins. He shares his journey from Viking Gymnasium to becoming one of the all-time greats at Winthrop University and his evolution into one of the top American basketball players in Europe over the past 12 years.
Since graduating from Winthrop in 2008, Michael has played for professional basketball teams in Montenegro, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Kazakhstan and Russia.
He was drafted as the top overall pick in the 2008 Continental Basketball Association draft and played in the NBA camps of the Brooklyn Nets and Oklahoma City Thunder, along with stints in the CBA and NBA G-League.
