Early 2001 or so I got initiated into Trance music by a friend from school. Sometimes at nights, the local MTV ripoff channel, MAD TV, would play nonstop dance music for a few hours. The video for the the Rank 1 remix of Superstring was on rotation there and it was the bomb! That track was the first anthem of the first edition of Sensation. Needless to say, Sensation went on to make history as the biggest Trance event worldwide, and Superstring itself became a timeless classic. We watched that video whenever could catch it on TV, and in our 11yold brains we fantasized about foreign lands, like a dance utopia that we'd one day see for ourselves (we did believe that all Dutch people ever do was being at those festivals every single night lol). To this day whenever I listen/watch that track it takes me back there. And for years I heard in my head that anthem playing over a DnB beat. Well, turns out it works!
