Following up a genre-blurring collaborative album 'Nijerusalem' with Nigerian-Ghanaian synth architect Mammoun Sani, Berlin-based Tribak label bossTropikal Camel returns with a trio of percussive, Gqom-infused versions of ‘Qumagu’...Of the three versions, it’s the ‘Qumagu (Void Version)’ that calls to us like a cosmic siren. Here, Tropikal Camel submerges the audience into a vortex of mysticism, where ancient rites are unspooled and recombined amidst a dizzying expanse of metallic, hyper-digital realms. Polyrhythmic currents weave through the track’s disorienting labyrinth, morphing with relentless fluidity into a trance-inducing anthem - a spiralling tornado of sandy futurism. A fractured, disjointed rhythm interlocks with elastic melodies, while expansive, stretched atmospherics scorch the earth beneath, as if setting the planet’s crust ablaze with each pulsating beat.
