Description

The taste of salt upon the air,
A rhythm that we came to share.
Your lips, they part, a wordless dare,
A syncopated, trembling prayer.
Our bodies hum a mutant chord,
A harmony we can't afford.

Your fragile form begins to shake,
A silent promise I must make.
My fingers trace, for heaven's sake,
The yielding shoreline of your lake.
The pendulum begins to swing,
A dizzy, docile, waiting thing.

And we go down, upon the tactile shore,
Where waves of feeling crash and roar.
A naked gasp, a breathless score,
To live inside this night for more.
We shipwreck on the reefs of skin,
A silken storm to plunge within.

The precipice is where we cling,
A delta where the echoes ring.
A fragile, gracile offering,
To which my weary senses bring…
Everything.

And we go down, upon the tactile shore!
Where waves of feeling crash and roar!
A naked gasp, a breathless score,
To live inside this night for more!
We shipwreck on the reefs of skin,
This silken storm I plunge within!

(A final, breathy whisper)
...This silken storm.
