Luigi Tozzi는 지난 몇 년간 엠비언트부터 클럽의 댄스뮤직까지 어우르는 자신만의 확고한 테크노 스타일을 만들어내며 디제이로써 자신의 이름을 천천히 그리고 확실하게 만들어나갔다. 이탈리아 로마에서 태어난 Tozzi는 몇 세대를 거치며 만들어진 이탈리아 특유의 사운드로부터 큰 영향을 받았으며, 이는 Tozzi 특유의 소용돌이 치는듯한 깊고 감정적인 사운드로 발전되었다. 그의 작품들에는 이러한 자신만의 색채가 뚜렷하게 묻어나고 있다.
Tozzi는 현대 딥테크노 씬의 핵심적인 레이블 Hypnus Records(스웨덴)를 통해 여러 장의 EP 앨범과 그의 대표적 작품이라 할 수 있는 앨범 “Deep Blue: Volume 2”(2016)를 발표하였다. 또한, 이탈리아의 저명한 프로듀서인 Dino Sabatini가 이끄는 Outis Music을 통해서는 솔로 작품들뿐만 아니라 Dino Sabatini와의 협업 작품들도 발표하였다.
자신만의 사운드에 대한 확고한 의지와 함께 깊이 고민하며 발전시킨 Tozzi의 음악적 정체성은 현재의 아티스트 Luigi Tozzi가 있게끔 만들었으며, 유럽 최고의 클럽 중 하나로 손꼽히는 Khidi (Tbilisi)에서의 레지던트 디제이 활동을 포함하여 그를 전 세계 최고의 클럽들에서 공연하게끔 이끌었다. 이러한 활동들을 통해 Tozzi는 디제이와 프로듀서로서 독창적인 자신만의 사운드를 표현하고 있으며, 또한 예술가로서의 실험을 지속하며 끊임없이 진화해 나가고 있다.
Over the last few years Luigi Tozzi has been calmly making a name for himself as one of Europe’s go-to DJs for his distinct brand of techno that draws both from ambient music as well as from the club. Raised in Rome, the DJ and Producer takes influence from the timeless italian sound, which he’s further developed with an emotional, swirling, dubby atmosphere. There’s an unmistakable texture to his productions.
While prolific, Tozzi has kept his output within a close family of labels. Swedish label Hypnus are key here, having released a number of the producer’s EPs as well as his acclaimed debut album, Deep Blue: Volume 2, in 2016. Alongside Hypnus, Tozzi has worked closely with Outis Music, releasing both solo as well as collaborative work with the label’s founder, Dino Sabatini.
Tozzi’s unswerving commitment to his sound, alongside his pensive and considered development as an artist has brought him to where he is today, with a touring schedule that’s taken him to some of the finest clubbing establishments around the world. Within this, he maintains a residency at Khidi, Tbilisi, which in recent years has emerged as one of the best clubbing destinations in Europe. It’s through this platform that he brings his unique hybrid sound as both a DJ and producer, and can evolve and experiment as an artist.
