세계 최고의 라이브 테크노 듀오 Cassegrain의 멤버 Alex Tsiridis의 솔로 프로젝트 Rhyw. 그는 Cassegrain의 또다른 멤버인 Magna Pia와 함께 Arcing Seas 레이블을, 그리고 More Elian과 Fever AM 레이블을 동시에 운영하고 있으며, Shifted의 레이블 Avian, Tar Hallow, Bassiani, 그리고 Efdemin이 이끄는 Naïf와 같은 명망있는 테크노 레이블들에서 자신의 작품들을 발표하고 있다.
다작(多作) 프로듀서로 손꼽히는 Rhyw는 이 솔로 프로젝트를 통해 테크노를 포함한 전반적인 전자 댄스 음악의 범위 안에서 자신만의 추상적인 해석을 통한 개성있는 작품세계를 선보이고 있다. 최근 Rhyw가 발표한 Biggest Bully/ Felt (Fever AM / 2019), Luke Late (SSPB / 2019)와 같은 작품들은 그가 유년기를 보낸 영국의 색채가 강한 작품들로서, 다양한 전자음악으로부터 영향받은 그의 음악세계를 엿볼 수 있다.
새로운 사운드에 대한 탐구를 멈추지 않는 Rhyw의 독창적이고 감각적인 음악세계는 지금 이 순간에도 끊임없이 발전해나가고 있다.
Rhyw, (also one half of the duo Cassegrain) has made a career from a series of records that represent the very best of modern techno.
He currently operates two labels - Arcing Seas with Magna Pia, his partner in Cassegrain and Fever AM with Mor Elian and has released EPs on Shifted’s Avian imprint, Tar Hallow as well as appearances on Tbilisi’s Bassiani and Efdemin’s Naïf.
As one of Techno’s more prolific producers, he has used the Rhyw alias to explore more abstract interpretations of both the Techno genre, and the wider dance music spectrum.
More recently, Tsiridis looked to his musical roots, growing up in the UK for inspiration, with high tensile, deconstructed club music in the form of “Biggest Bully/ Felt” released on Fever AM, and “Lurk Late” on Modeselektor’s Seilscheibenpfeiler (SSPB) label.
Never ceasing to explore new sounds, Rhyw continues to mine his unique production aesthetic.
