Released in late 2021, David Graeber and David Wengrow's enormous book, The Dawn of Everything: A New History of Humanity, claims to try to set the record straight about the where we all came from.
In this episode, we talk about what motivated Graeber and Wengrow to write the book and how the common narrative about the structures of human societies is both right and wrong for different reasons. We also give some context on Graeber's reputation as an Anarchist and Jules then schools us on the differences between Anarchism, Socialism, and Communism.
We start this one with a lengthy passage from the book. For everyone who doesn't dose off, things get more lively later in the episode.
