John Rivera began working with local nonprofit organizations during the late 1980′s and continues serving throughout the northeast to this very day. Over the years, John also enjoyed the opportunity to serve in a variety of volunteer leadership positions with numerous organizations. Some of those roles included that of board member and adviser.
John has an extensive background as a trainer and consultant in organizational and leadership development. Through his work, John has helped many nonprofit organizations grow, define their vision and execute in excellence. His primary tools have been coaching, training, and comprehensive assessments that have consistently led to positive and lasting change for his clients. Most recently, he added his new book: “The Climb” to his cache of effective leadership and organizational development tools.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in communication from William Paterson University of New Jersey. He graduated with high honors (Summa Cum Laude). He also received the Excellence in Interpersonal Communications Theory Award. Senior faculty members select one student each year based on academic performance, leadership and overall command of the subject area.
Today John continues to use his years of experience and education to assist area business and nonprofit leaders with their communication, organizational and leadership development needs. In this journey, he is committed to encouraging, equipping and empowering leaders to accomplish their mission as well as creatively multiply their impact and footprint. John strongly believes that “individuals and organizations can all ascend to a higher level of excellence as they pursue their personal and organizational mission in life.”
