I've been on an emotional streak these last few months. February, March, and April were all very sensitive mixes coming from a similar place. While I'm quite happy with all three of them, and I think they have helped focus+define what people say is my "signature sound," I'm getting a little bored with that artistic formula, so it's time to try something in a slightly different direction....
For May I pushed myself to put together a mix that lacks emotion by design, yet still is me (by definition). In this mix we find a collection of slightly glitchier, syncopated, left brain tracks, some of which are very texture-based...but I wouldn't call this a traditional tech-house or minimal mix by any means. Despite the mathier, less human elements, the entire mix retains some feeling of melody, which I think for me, is very hard to escape and what makes music fun...Let's see if this resonates with you as well.
