Growing up in Detroit in the 1960’s and 70’s had its challenges, and Deon L. Hogan had to navigate those challenges. Sports and church kept him on the straight and narrow. As the fourth of five sibling – he was always the fastest kid in the lower east-side Detroit neighborhood.
