Advocates for cancer research say an important organization in the fight against cancer in Texas will be running out of money in the next few years. The Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas was approved by voters in 2007. Back then, voters agreed to fund the program for 10 years. Now, as KUT’s Ashley Lopez reports, funding will soon begin tapering off.
