Marjorie Eastman is like many in the military post - 9/11. She was motivated by those attacks on the United States and wanted to serve. As she says, she wanted to be “all in.” So, Eastman enlisted in the army. She was awarded a direct commission within her first two years. Eastman was an army intelligence officer and commander and served two combat deployments, including one out of Camp Mabry in Austin, Texas. She calls the people who have served after 9/11 “The Frontline Generation” because there has been no definitive, set geographic front line in the war on terror. KUT’s Jennifer Stayton talked with Marjorie Eastman about her book "The Frontline Generation: How We Served Post 9/11."
