For some in the Austin area, this year has been one of disaster.
Floods and wildfires have left many without homes. Several have died.
In October, the Hidden Pines fire in Bastrop County burned more than 4,000, destroying 64 homes.
As KUT’s Audrey McGlinchy reports, local residents have now banded together to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
