It’s no secret the Texas Department of Transportation has no money. The state run agency is in the hole with at least 12 billion dollars in debt. So, it's rather remarkable that a group of middle school students lobbied TX DOT and squeezed some money out of the agency to pay for a sidewalk that will lead to their school.
