New ethics laws for public officials have been named an emergency item by Texas Governor Greg Abbott for the last two legislative sessions. The Texas House started its work on that issue Tuesday, with a series of five bills. But as KUT's Ben Philpott reports, some lawmakers want stronger ethics bill on the floor.
