Notes: The artist moves towards his beloved, from far away to near and finally to attainment. First the artist is unconscious and sings ordinary songs. Then he becomes aware of the beloved and the songs he sing center more and more around the beloved. Finally he sings just the name of the beloved, he can't think of anything else and surrenders completely; he depends entirely on the grace of the beloved.
To be transported by the fragrance of the beloved means to be under the influence of so called 'microvita' , mysterious emanations of the beloved, often associated with smell. With these the beloved manipulates the world, orchestrates a cosmic hide and seek, and finally draws the artist into his arms.
Just as the artist attracts the beloved with his songs, the beloved cosmic entity attracts the artist powerfully by his many qualities, and most of all with his love.
